The Barracuda Project, also known as Barracuda Live: The Big Rebuild is an ongoing project by the Fleet Air Arm Museum to reconstruct a Fairey Barracuda.
The exhibition aims to inform visitors how the project aims to restore a non-flying Barracuda using salvaged wreckage components and newly manufactured parts – to a non-flying replica.
The project also serves to honor the individuals who built, flew, and maintained the aircraft, while preserving a significant piece of aviation history.
1. Dramatically enhance the visual presence of the Story of the Barracuda at FAAM and other locations.
2. Develop a set of visual assets which are consistent in their look & feel to create a stronger impact upon the target audience with the goal of increasing visitor numbers.
3. Enhance the look & feel of all Barracuda brand communication material.
4. Brand development
5. Raise the profile of the Barracuda aircraft, its story and the importance it had in the RNAS.
6. Provide a dynamic and innovative addition to wayfinding and visitor area layout.
7. Interpret as much as possible the process/techniques of re-building an aircraft.
8. Make the Barracuda exhibition an active rather than a passive experience
