The characteristics of the commission and the design scheme:
Dramatically enhance the temporary exhibition experience at Chatham Historic Dockyard temporary exhibition space and Portsmouth, National Museum of the Royal Navy.
Provide a dynamic and innovative addition to Chatham and NMRN.
Create as much as possible the secret world of the underwater archaeologist.
Raise the profile of HMS Invincible and the importance it had in our maritime design history.
Make the Diving Deep exhibition an active rather than a passive experience for Chatham and NMRN visitors.
Innovative features:
Dual site venues of different sizes and demographics – making re-purposing the exhibition a consideration in all design elements.
3 camera, 3 projector film giving a virtual 270˚ view – shot by worldwide underwater cameraman Mike Pitts.
