Interactive analogue POD – demonstrating how gears work – solving STEM education requirements for the Museum.
We designed and manufactured this Interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) pod to show how helicopter gearing works to propel rotor blades. Kids (and adults) can interact with the POD at the Fleet Air Arm Museum.
We predominantly used 3D printing for the gearing and traditional cabinet making skills on the pod construction making a robust stable structure. The paint finishing was produced by our very own Creative Director – aiming to mimic worn aluminium surfaces, using masking techniques.
